The 5 Paragraph Essay Format The first paragraph: 1) Begins with a topic sentence that introduces a general theme. 2) Follows the topic sentence with sentences that narrow the focus of the theme, so that it is less general. 3) Introduces the author of the text you are writing about. 4) Introduces the title of that text. 5) Narrows the discussion of the topic by identifying an issue or problem. 6) Finishes by making a debatable claim (a thesis statement, which is defined as a debatable point/claim). Body paragraphs: 1) Begin with topic sentences that clearly relate to the topic, or issue, or problem, which was identified in the introductory paragraph. 2) Sentences that elaborate on the issue, or problem discussed in the introductory paragraph, and also demonstrates a clear connection to theà thesis statement. 3) A sentence or sentences that make a claim about the topic, issue, problem. 4) A quote from the text you are analyzing that supports your claim. 5) Your interpretation of that quote, which explains how you arrived at your conclusion, and also demonstrates a clear connection to the thesis statement. à · Body parargraphs employ the One, Two, Three Rule, which is: 1) Make a debatable claim. 2) Support the claim with a quote. 3) Explain the connection between your claim and the quote, which means you make an intellectual conclusion. Concluding paragraph: 1) Begins with a topic sentence that clearly relates to the topic, or issue, or problem that was identified in the introductory paragraph. 2) Sentences that make connections with, or revisit, point from your introductory paragraph and your body paragraphs. Structure simply means that each individual paragraph does what it is supposed to do. Alright then, what is a paragraph supposed to do? It depends what type of paragraph it is. The types of paragraphs are as follows: The introductory paragraph. The body paragraphs. The concluding paragraph. Basically, you just want to make certain that: Your introductory paragraph does its job. Your body paragraphs do their job. Your concluding paragraph does its job. Organization is all about body paragraphs. Why? Because everything that comes between your first paragraph and last paragraph is a body paragraph. Your essay is mostly made up of body paragraphs. What is Organization? It is how you order the information. Think of it this way: in your essay you make a number of claims and provide much information that supports those claims. How you order claims and information is your essays organization. Example: You are writing a paper on the current state of research on human cloning. You decide to include two paragraphs of background information on theà history of cloning research. The two paragraphs appear on page four of your five page paper. Your professor suggests that the organization require revision because there is an abrupt shift in the essays narrative. Why after almost four full pages about the current state of cloning research does your reader get two paragraphs on history? Including history is fine, but perhaps it should be included at the beginning of the paper, so that your narrative moves from the early days of cloning research to the current state of cloning research. It is the same information, but ordered differently.

Introduction The relationship among human personalities and social media addiction has both attract attention of not just psychologists but the public as well. Human personalities Social media can be use in both healthy and unhealthy ways depending on the individuals, whether are making use social media to its potential or abusing the right one have causing addiction towards social media making it having similar side effects as substance addiction. Aim of this literature review is to discuss human personalities with the Big Five Personalities Traits as the base of personalities towards the usage social media addiction would either be benefiting or marginalising each individual. Human personalities Studies of human personality has brought great influence and impact towards our society describing how we behave, perceive and state how each person is different from others. The Big Five Personalities Traits is describe as openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism known to be sufficient measure and the base of describing a person personality stated by many psychologists ( McCrae, R. R., & Costa, P. C., Jr. 1987 ; Costa, P. T., & McCrae, R. R. 1992) Social media addiction Social media is a massive technological publisher spreading news, discoveries and information through the internet, due to it allows people to connect not affected by time or distance, people can form relationship, business negotiating, political and especially for personal usage, making it to become extremely popular. Social media addiction known as one of the major problems that prevent people from face to face interaction while people are mainly focused on technology devices, is affecting not just youngsters but elders can be also ad... ...ng along with others which makes them unconcerned of others and less likely to extend themselves. Neuroticism Neuroticism is described as the tendency to experience unpleasant emotions easily such as anger, anxiety, depression, or vulnerability. Neuroticism also refers to the degree of emotional stability and impulse control and is sometimes referred to by its low pole, "emotional stability". ( Ehrenberg, Jukes, White, &Walsh , 2008) reported that people who is high in neuroticism had greater instant messaging use, because instant messaging provides additional time for individuals to contemplate their responses making neurotic people are more at ease comparing to face-to-face interaction. Individuals are low in neuroticism are less easily upset and are less emotionally reactive. They tend to be calm, emotionally stable, and free from persistent negative feelings

Mankindââ¬â¢s Ability to Survive in Elie Wieselââ¬â¢s Night Essay
In Elie Wieselââ¬â¢s Night, he tells of how his family went from being just a regular family in a small town called Sighet, Romania to being thrown into a concentration camp and split apart and then how he and his father were treated and how he got out. Through the novel, Wiesel and his family go from living like regular people living in their home to being in the ââ¬Å"ghettoâ⬠, then transported on cramped train cars to Auschwitz, a Nazi death camp for Jewish people. He tells us of what he and his father went through and also tells us of his getting out of the camp. The novel starts out in Sighet, Romania. The small town where Elie Wiesel grew up as a young boy. He grew up with two older sisters and a younger sister. There is an old beggar there that people call Moishe the Beadle. Wiesel spent a lot of time with this man as he had faith and wanted to someone to help him in his Kabbalah studies. When Wiesel asked his father his father asked him why and said no. No one listened to Moishe the Beadle when he had to get deported and then came back with news about what was to come. Everyone thought he was crazy. When people from other places started coming and changing things in the town around for example making ââ¬Å"ghettoâ⬠areas, the people started to believe. People were given a certain amount of rations for their family and different families were called for deportation every week. This could also be known as selection. In the ghetto of Sighet, they made up their own government system, police force, social assistance office, labor committee, and hygiene department. In May 1944, the government system was told that their ghettos will be closed immediately and the residents will be deported. The people are not told where they will go, but only that they may take a few of their personal items with them. The voyage to the death camp Auschwitz was long, depriving and harsh. One woman that was in the train car with them named Madame Schachter kept screaming hysterically that she could see flames until beaten to silence by others that wanted her to be quiet. When they got closer and saw the chimneys for themselves is when they came to reality and knew what was happening Upon getting to the camp they are separated by gender, men on the left and women on the right. Wieselââ¬â¢s mother and younger sister go straight to the gas chambers. Wiesel and his father make it past the first selection in the camp. They do this by lying about their ages; Elie claimed he was 18 and his father in his early 30s. Elie stayed with his father, doing everything he could to make sure he stayed that way. The struggle to survive for Elie and his father was filled with pain, hunger and torture. Some ways that they used to survive were sharing rations with each other and other people, steal rations from others and make sure they were strong enough not to get put in the selection to go to the gas chambers. In August 1944, Wiesel and his father were transferred from Birkenau to Auschwitz III, where their lives changed to avoiding violence and constant search for food, this camp was a work camp. In January 1945, the Germans made all the ââ¬Å"inmatesâ⬠in the camp march to camps in Germany. Wiesel and his father made it Gleiwitz and were put on a freight train to Buchenwald, 350 miles from Auschwitz. They survived this by doing their best not to fall behind or on the ground; if they fell behind they were shot and trampled on. Wiesel was with his father the whole time. The prisoners were allowed to take a hot bath. They go to the barracks, Wiesel left his father behind. He found his father in a block for the sick and weak. The other men in his fatherââ¬â¢s bunk beat him to get his food. The men eventually beat him to death and another sick man was in his bunk the next time Wiesel went to see him. His father was brought to the crematorium before dawn by the Kapos. Wiesel was transferred to the childrenââ¬â¢s block. On April 5, 1945, the ââ¬Å"inmatesâ⬠were told that their camp is to be liquidated and they are going to be moved. On April 11, a Jewish resistance movement attacked the remaining SS officers and took control. The first American tank arrived at the front gates at six in the evening. The camp was liberated and Wiesel was freed. Everything that Wiesel and his family went through, throughout the novel, tells of how he survived going from death camp to work camp and again to another death camp. He did a lot of things that he didnââ¬â¢t mean, but in doing so he was just trying to survive himself and do what he could to help his father survive as long as he did.

When Did Disneyland First Open
On July 17, 1955, Disneyland opened for a few thousand specially invited visitors; the following day, Disneyland officially opened to the public. Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California on what used to be a 160-acre orange orchard, cost $17 million to build. The original park included Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Walt Disneys Vision for Disneyland When they were little, Walt Disney would take his two young daughters, Diane and Sharon, to play at the carousel at Griffith Park in Los Angeles every Sunday. While his daughters enjoyed their repeated rides, Disney sat on park benches with the other parents who had nothing to do but watch. It was on these Sunday excursions that Walt Disney began to dream of an activity park that had things for both children and parents to do. At first, Disney envisioned an eight-acre park which would be located near his Burbank studios and be called, Mickey Mouse Park. However, as Disney began to plan themed areas, he quickly realized that eight-acres would be way too small for his vision. Although World War II and other projects put Disneys theme park on the back burner for many years, Disney continued to dream about his future park. In 1953, Walt Disney was finally ready to start on what would become known as Disneyland. Finding a Location for Disneyland The first part of the project was to find a location. Disney hired the Stanford Research Institute to find an appropriate location that consisted of at least 100-acres was located near Los Angeles and could be reached by a freeway. The company found for Disney a 160-acre orange orchard in Anaheim, California. Financing a Place of Dreams Next came finding funding. While Walt Disney put up much of his money to make his dream a reality, he didnt have enough personal money to complete the project. Disney then contacted financiers to help. But however much Walt Disney was enthralled with the theme park idea, the financiers he approached were not. Many of the financiers could not envision the monetary rewards of a place of dreams. To gain financial support for his project, Disney turned to the new medium of television. Disney made a plan with ABC: ABC would help finance the park if Disney would produce a television show on their channel. The program Walt created was called Disneyland and showed previews of the different themed areas in the new, upcoming park. Building Disneyland On July 21, 1954, construction on the park began. It was a momentous undertaking to build Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland in only one year. The total cost of building Disneyland would be $17 million. Opening Day On July 17, 1955, 6,000 by-invitation-only guests were invited for a special preview of Disneyland before it opened to the public the following day. Unfortunately, 22,000 extra people arrived with counterfeit tickets. Besides the huge numbers of extra people on this first day, many other things went wrong. Included in the problems were a heat wave that made the temperature unusually and unbearably hot, a plumbers strike meant only a few of the water fountains were functional, womens shoes sunk into still soft asphalt which had been laid the night before, and a gas leak caused several of the themed areas to be closed temporarily. Despite these initial setbacks, Disneyland opened to the public on July 18, 1955, with an entrance fee of $1. Over the decades, Disneyland had added attractions and opened the imaginations of millions of children. What was true when Walt Disney stated it during the opening ceremonies in 1955 still stands true today: To all who come to this happy place - welcome. Disneyland is your land.
